PE Cold Storage predominantly serves the fruit export industry of the Eastern Cape. Our operation comprises cold rooms and steri chambers used to prepare fruit for export. Located in house, PPECB inspectors verify temperature regimes prior to loading into reefers. Once loaded into reefers, the consignment is generally sent to our PECS Container Terminal for holding prior to dispatch either to the Coega or Port Elizabeth ports.
Adjacent to both the Maersk and MSC container depots, access to reefer stock is geographically enhanced. This means reefer stock is available at PECS within the shortest possible timeframe.
PECS has the capacity to store 14,000 pallets whilst PECS Container Terminal has 510 plug in slots available to power reefer containers. PECS Container Terminal also provides logistics services to transport the containers to and from port.
The PECS operation is fully sprinklered and maintained to ASIB standards.
Our specific location in the Coega zone imparts a degree of immunity from load shedding, as we are situated in the port zone of electricity supply. Both PECS and PECS Container Terminal also have limited backup genset capacity available on site.

Warehousing capacity over the Christmas season is available for clients needing additional capacity on the coast and over the holiday period.
Unless specifically agreed in writing by us, the storage and cooling of all goods undertaken by us, is at the owners risk. Our standard terms and conditions of trade are available on this web site in detail should these need referencing by our clients.
